Big Mama’s Kitchen & Catering is a family owned and operated restaurant and caterer specializing in soul food and traditional American cuisine. We offer a unique variety of delicious homemade appetizers, entrées, cakes and desserts.

Our catering service began over 40 years ago as a part-time home-based business in the kitchen of founder Patricia “Big Mama” Barron. Acquiring her desire to cook for her beloved grandmother Lillie, Big Mama always wanted to own her own restaurant and in December of 2007, at the age of 62, she opened the doors of her first restaurant, “Big Mama’s Kitchen & Catering”.

Over the next 10 years, Big Mama’s made-from-scratch soul food classics would be featured internationally on various food shows including Cooking Channel, Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives, Travel Channel, Sundance Channel and Man VS. Food. Big Mama enjoyed working 6 days a week cooking and chatting with her customers. During this time, she also opened Big Mama’s Sandwich Shop which operated from March 2013 to October 2016.

On Good Friday, March 30, 2018, the Lord called home Patricia “Big Mama” Barron to be with Jesus.

Big Mama’s family is committed to carrying on her legacy of providing our customers with fresh, great tasting cuisine and exceptional customer service for generations to come.
